This tutorial is to guide instructors on joining and accessing a course

Joining a Course In IllumiDesk

Joining a Course as an Instructor

  • When an instructor is invited, they will receive an email
  • If the user is a new user, they will need to register and create an account using the email address sent to the course invitation email
  • If the user is an existing user, they will need to login
  • The user will be redirected to the course with Instructor level access which allows the following permission
    • Create or import an Activity
    • Grade an Activity
    • Provide feedback for submitted Activities
    • Invite others to the Course

Joining a Course as an Instructor

  • The instructor will be sent an invitation from Canvas
  • Once an Instructor accepts the invitation, they will have instructor-level access to the course
  • An Instructor user can create new assignments and match the appropriate linked Activities with Illumidesk. For more information regarding linking activities, follow the activity linking section of this article
  • As an Instructor, you will be able to launch the Assignment which will redirect to the linked IllumiDesk Activity in the linked course
  • The Instructor can also access Instructor level access for the course by selecting the illumiDesk link in the side navigation panel of the course
